About Bonaire
Bonaire is a member of the Leeward Islands of the Netherlands Antilles. You may also see it referred to as one of the ABC Islands, the other two of which are Aruba and Curacao.

Geography:
Approximately 112 square miles (290 sq km); population around 14, 400
The coral island of Klein Bonaire is approximately 3.75 square miles (6 sq km), and is uninhabited
Average annual temperature: 82oF (28oC), rainfall: 22” (56cm) Bonaire is outside the hurricane belt!
Technology: Electricity: 127V and 220V 50Hz
Telephone: Land lines and good cell phone coverage
Television: Terrestrial and Cable (About 42 channels)
Internet: Dial-up and ADSL, with Many “Internet Cafes”, including wireless access.
Languages:
The official language is Dutch, but English and Spanish are widely spokenin additionl to the local language, Papiamentu, which is a mixture of many languages.
Economy:
Main business is tourism: over 65,000 visitors last year, the majority for diving activities.
